Mancos House

RESIDENTIAL • MANCOS, COLORADO

This papercrete home was designed around the size of the owners’ musical instruments and their circle of bluegrass musicians. Papercrete is a sustainable material made from repulped paper fiber stabilized with local earthen clay. Situated along the Mancos River, the home is shaped by its setting, with the sound of rushing water carrying through the interior and a wraparound porch extending living space outdoors, creating a strong example of sustainable,
site-responsive design.
